80s Black Knit & Gold Lamé Disco Dress

• Rare, super glam 1980s cocktail dress by Frank Masandrea, made in USA
• Very wearable evening wear, perfect for cooler weather events due to its knit top
• The black is a woven knit which feels a lot like wool. There is no fabric tag to confirm.
• Plunge neck with draped texture, raglan shoulders and batwing sleeves
• High waist with attached gold cummerbund belt and HUGE sweeping lamé skirt
• Glistening gold metallic lamé which is wonderful to dance in
• Back zip closure
• Some small mended holes in the knit as pictured
• Rare and collectible piece. Frank Masandrea was a talented designer who got his break in wedding gowns before expanding into ready to wear; his designs were sold at major American department stores and several of his designs were featured in Vogue as he emerged. His work is not as well-known as his talent merited because he died tragically young during the AIDs crisis of the 1980s. An exceptionally beautiful piece from an extremely talented designer.
